Streamlabs chatbot is a brilliant addition to your Twitch, YouTube, and Mixer that makes interacting with your viewers a breeze. Here’s how to set it up and connect to your accounts, plus how to use various Streamlabs chatbot commands.
Setting Up a Streamlabs Chatbot Step-by-Step
Setting up a Streamlabs chatbot to your stream takes a couple of minutes but does not require any background experience with coding. The only thing you need to do is follow these guidelines, one step at a time. For detailed guidance, navigate to Streamlabs.com/chatbot and choose your platform.
Streamlabs offers user guides for Python 2.7.13, Twitch, YouTube, and Mixer in PDF.
We’ve compiled the following guidelines using official Streamlabs chatbot documentation.
Step 1: Go to Twitch to Open a Bot Account
In order for this to work, you first need to go to Twitch and open a separate bot account. You should stay logged into Twitch via this account throughout the process.
Step 2: Return to Streamlabs and Find the Connections Tab
The Connections tab is located at the bottom left corner of the screen. Find it and open the Connections window. Then navigate to the “Streamlabs” button.
Step 3: Generate a Token
Click on “Generate Token” button. This will push the Authorization page open. Click “Approve” to authorize
Step 4: Connect Your Account
The only thing left for you to do is click on “Connect”. After you do, your account will be connected to chat presuming you’ve done everything correctly. Finally, after you click “Connect”, go to Settings > General > Scroll to Show Chatbot Tab on Donations Page and enable it.
You can connect different accounts using these steps, with slight modifications. For example with Discord, you’ll need to log in here and follow the setup instructions.
